Ann & Bob
B&B La Ferme Buissonnière
The place for hikers and for peaceful holidays
Ann and Bob are pleased to welcome you to their bed & breakfast and gîte ‘La Ferme Buissonnière’, an 18th century renovated farmhouse on a hilltop in the charming village of Bardou in the Dordogne. The farm house is located on the Bergerac-Rocamadour pilgrimage route and is the perfect starting point for beautiful hiking routes in the area of Issigeac.
Relaxation for everyone
Far away from the mass tourism, and close to the medieval town of Issigeac… Absolute tranquility and a beautiful view on the fields with sunflowers and the surrounding area…
Our comfortable rooms are all equipped with underfloor heating by geothermal energy.
They are located on the ground floor with direct access to terrace or park.
And after an active day, or if you simply want to rest, you can use our swimming pool…
Active in the Dordogne
Due to its exceptional location ‘La Ferme Buissonnière’ offers many hiking possibilities starting from the house (the shortest is 4 km). The short ‘Boucle Bardovienne’ starts there, but also a bigger challenge like (a part of) the new Bergerac-Rocamadour trail passes the chambres d’hôtes ‘La Ferme Buissonnière’.
Visit caves, gorges, castles, medieval towns, traditional weekly markets where you can find local products and cozy evening markets where you can enjoy locally prepared dishes.
Or what about canoeing on the Dordogne or the Vézère? Or cross the beautiful landscape by horse or mountain bike, or enjoy a round of golf?
Le gîte La Porcinière
This gîte is an atypical summer cottage, ideal for hikers!
Five separate rooms have been realised in the old piggery of the farm. Each room has a private entrance and is connected through the common terrace.
Three rooms can be rented alltogether and separately (to hikers for example).
Bardou is one of the smallest villages in the department of Dordogne, region Périgord Pourpre, with only five houses and a restored Romanesque church (St Blaise) with a chapel from the 13th century. About 500 meters away you will find the Chateau de Bardou (private property), originally an ancient fortress from the centennial war, then called St John.
Le Périgord Pourpre
The region is known for its vineyards, bastides and gastronomy. For wine lovers, the famous wine regions of Bergerac (Pécharme, Monbazillac and Saussignac) are just a 25-minute drive away. The area around Bergerac is full of activities.
We know the hospitality of Ann and Bob from the time they had an animal guest house, but now we can enjoy their care and dedication ourselves!
Everything you need is there… En this great environment… Highly recommended!
